      Fire protection curtains

      Fire protection curtains are seal openings in walls and ceilings in case of fire. The constructional set-up (rolling- or folding technology) and the use of different fabrics offer a wide application spectrum as well as different protection targets or classifications and time classes. Casings and side guides of those flexible applicable systems are integrated almost invisibly in the building and provide much scope for design of sophisticated architecture for opened designs.

      Manifold production - and logisitc processes require different construction types of conveying systems. If the haulage drifts are passing through fire-retarding resp. fire-resisting walls or ceilings, the necessary openings must be provided with fire protection closures to avoid the expansion of the fire by conveyor technique or by conveyed material. In case of fire the conveyor system closures have to seal those openings immediately and automatically. Thereby a classified fire resistance as well as the smoothly clearing of the closing area must be respected in case of release.

Controllers coordinate both fire detection and the interaction with other controls, like superordinate building control or the retraction of the closing area at conveyor closing area.

30 years of service and more

In 1993 PROTEC-24 was founded. In three decades, the service business has changed enormously - the high quality standard, however, has remained.

As a company of the later STÖBICH Group, PROTEC-24 also started at the central location in Goslar. Taucha and Bopfingen covered the areas East and South - at the beginning exactly one employee worked in each branch. In the beginning, the service concentrated exclusively on ➥Conveyor system closures. Gradually, other fire and fire protection elements were added, which now exist in newer generations: e.g. fire doors, fire sectional doors and sliding doors as well as hold-open systems, fire dampers and many more. Since 1997. ➥textile smoke and fire protection closures have been maintained and repaired.

In parallel with the service and product portfolio, the methods and tools also continued to develop: EDP and the Internet replaced fax and handwritten documentation; in assembly and sales, laptops and digital cameras made work easier. In 1998, every new service vehicle had a navigation system - a matter of course today, but a minor technical sensation back then. And what was still science fiction 30 years ago has been an integral part of the PROTEC-24 portfolio for several years now: the ➥ maintenance support via drones.
