Feuer in Bus-Depot der ÜSTRA in Hannover: Feuerschutzvorhänge erfolgreich im Einsatz
Eight completely burned-out buses (including five new electric buses), a destroyed e-mobility charging infrastructure and a broken hall roof: 200 emergency personnel from the Hannover Fire Department battled the flames for three hours at the ÜSTRA Mittelfeld depot on the first weekend in June. Helping hands of the ÜSTRA staff evacuated 19 buses in the meantime.
Luck of the draw that the Hanover transport authority has been relying on STÖBICH's textile fire protection solutions since 2019: Thanks to the 14 Fibershield®-P fire protection curtains installed, including systems with dimensions of over 10 x 4 m, the fire was unable to spread to other areas. Smoke was also effectively contained. As a result, in addition to said vehicles, the workshop could also be saved.
Even though the exact cause of the fire is still unclear, everyone involved agreed: you can rely on fire protection solutions from STÖBICH; further measures from our company are already in the planning stage.
