Press release: The textile fire protection corner-solution is the focus of the international design landscape
Stöbich fire protection curtain nominated for the German Design Award 2017
The Stöbich Fibershield-S fire protection curtain has been nominated for the German Design Award 2017. The prize is awarded by the German Design Council to honour innovative products and projects that are pioneering in the German and international design landscape. A jury comprising international experts will announce the winners in October.
Goslar, 12.08.2016 - In the event of an alarm, the Fibershield-S fire protection curtain closes, even around corners, making it highly suitable for open architectural designs. The textile fire protection system is not only able to close extremely large openings to shield them from fire and smoke, it can also be integrated almost invisibly into the building structure. Once again, Stöbich has come up with a curtain system that offers reliable fire protection for complex design requirements and was nominated this time for the German Design Award 2017 in the category 'Building and Elements'. This curtain with its folding technique has obviously struck a nerve with architects and planners, as reflected by two awards it has received. For instance, in 2015 the product made it onto the 'Fire protection of the year' shortlist of the FeuerTRUTZ network and also won the 'Architecture and building' innovation prize by the architecture magazines AIT and xia. The winners are announced in October 2016. The prize-giving ceremony takes place on 10th February 2017 in Frankfurt/Main. The German Design Award is awarded every year by the German Design Council. Since the foundation was set up in 1953, it has been one of the world's leading competence centres for communication and brand management in the design field. An international jury assesses the projects and products and selects those that the Council believe represent new and inspiring trends.
